Privacy Policy

Hi, I'm Andrew. I built this website and the Glade app, and I run everything myself. I collect as little as I can get away with, I never sell your data, and I don't hand it off to advertisers or other third parties. This page explains the details.

The short version

• The Glade alarm app collects nothing. It has no accounts, no analytics, and no internet connection.
• This website uses my own privacy-friendly analytics and stores your email only if you choose to subscribe or contact me.
• Nothing is sold or shared with third parties. The only other company involved is my hosting provider.

The Glade app

Glade is an alarm clock that runs entirely on your device. It does not connect to the internet, create an account, or talk to any server of mine. There is no analytics framework and no crash or error reporting. Your alarms and settings stay on your device, and I never see them.

If Apple or your device offers app-level analytics, that data goes to Apple under its own privacy policy, not to me, and it's aggregated and anonymous.

Analytics

I use a self-hosted analytics tool (Umami) that runs on my own server. It measures things like page views and which posts are popular so I know what's worth writing more of. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't track you across other websites, and doesn't build a profile of you. The data is aggregated and isn't used to identify individual visitors. Nothing about your visit leaves my own infrastructure.

Email subscriptions

If you sign up for updates, I store your email address so I can send you new posts. That's the only thing it's used for. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, so you can remove yourself from the list at any time.

Contact form

If you reach out through the contact form, I keep what you send (such as your name, email, and message) so I can read it and reply. I don't use it for anything else.

Who I share data with

I don't sell your data, and I don't share it with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties. The site and its data live on a server I rent from Hetzner, my hosting provider, which acts only as infrastructure on my behalf. I may disclose information if the law genuinely requires it, but that's the only exception.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link at the bottom of any email I send. If you'd like me to delete the email or contact-form data I hold about you, just send me a note through the contact form and I'll take care of it.

Children's privacy

Neither this website nor the Glade app is directed at children, and I don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If I change how any of this works, I'll update this page and the “last updated” date above.
